Performance MCR: 3 Reasons All Performance Marketers Should Attend

9th Jul 2026 / By Steph Caldecott

This year saw the return of – arguably – the North’s first and only dedicated conference for performance marketers: Performance MCR.

We went, we saw, we listened, we took part in the many fun fairground games that made for some extremely competitive conference breaks – and we’re here to fill you in on our highlights, and why it’s not an event to be missed for performance marketers.

3 Reasons Why Marketers Shouldn’t Miss Performance MCR

The Line-Up

The line-up of speakers this year was outstanding. Not only did the one and only Jyll Saskin Gales appear at the keynote speaker, but some of the amazing brands represented included Co-Op, Monzo, Silentnight, Oliver Bonas, REFY Beauty and more.

Flying the flag for performance marketing talent in the North were also a number of Northern agencies including Connective3, Summit, Cedarwood Digital, Impression Digital, and Paramount Digital.

    The Conversations

The buzzword of the moment is, of course, AI. And honestly, you’d be hard pressed to find an industry that isn’t using it as a cornerstone of all content, discussion and focus right now. Performance MCR was a breath of fresh air. AI got its moment, and it was present where relevant, but ultimately, the discussions covered a range of topics, problems and solutions that performance marketers experience. And (hot take)… not all of them can be solved by AI.

Some of the most inspiring talks of the day included a fantastic case study from Bolt founder, Taylor Housden; Sophie Logan’s rundown of practical B2B PPC tactics; Gianpaulo Larusso’s real-world experience of his 20+ year career in SEM, and Dan Truman’s step-by-step guide to what a ‘good’ GTM looks like.

      The Takeaways

So often, it’s easy to sit and be momentarily inspired by a speaker or a specific topic that resonates with your own job role or problem that you may be facing. However, it’s not often enough that the takeaways are actually applied to your day-to-day – whether due to the time, effort, or challenge of implementing them.

The talks at Performance MCR are centered around real-world examples, problems, and solutions – often with step-by-step or easily implemented changes that make a real difference. This isn’t ethereal advice or (not-so-subtle) sales tactics, it’s genuine, tried and tested methods from performance marketers that lead to results.

Bonus Performance MCR Perk: The Vibes

If the amazing line-up, topics and takeaways aren’t enough to get you to buy a ticket, then the atmosphere will be. This year, the conference took on fairground theme, which meant loads of fun, games and prizes in between talks. For those that are still full of energy, there’s also an exclusive after party for attendees – often with drinks included!

If this hasn’t convinced you to mark down Performance MCR as a ‘can’t miss’ in your calendar next summer, we don’t know what will. And who knows, you might even catch one of the Circus PPC team on stage next year… watch this space!
